Workers Protest Disrupts Container Transport At Chattogram Port.

Workers Protest Disrupts Container Transport At Chattogram Port.

The protest at Chattogram Port, which erupted on Tuesday Night (04th February 2025), has brought the container movement to a standstill. This suspension is a direct result of a clash between the truck drivers and Chattogram DC Park security staff, severely impacting the ports operations.

In the last day and a half, not a single export or import container was transported between the port and 21 private inland container depots.

As of today (06th February 2025), the disruption at Chattogram Port continues. The ongoing strike initiated by the truckers association has effectively halted container movements at the port.

Our understanding is that the clash on 04th February 2025 was a misunderstanding between the truck drivers and the security personnel at the DC Park, stemming from a road accident. This led to a protest that resulted in the blocking of all port gates and roads.

Despite discussion between the truckers association and the relevant authorities, no resolution has been reached as of 06th February 2025 at 11 am GMT.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Rest assured, we are actively monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as soon as we have more information.
